This is absolutely the best homage to the original Old Spice formula, actually, this is much better than anything that anyone has ever tried to do paying homage to Old Spice. I will continue to purchase the Spice shave products until my last days or theirs lol!!!
I had hoped it would smell like the "Original Old Spice". It's nice but not the same.

While I don't quite the scent of the aftershave as much as the shaving soap, its still very good.

Way too expensive. Heard that it was a homage to Old Spice. Not even close. Additionally, not only is it not close to Old Spice, it's scent is bad all on it's own. Sorry I bought it.
This scent is a nice combination of spiciness and floral. Different from Old Spice but just as enticing. Wife says it is a pleasant smell and I've gotten nice compliments from others, so its a winner for me all around. It lasts for about four hours but you still get a hint of it later in the day.

Prior to stumbling/internet meandering upon your Spice Aftershave Splash, I had been a long standing, third generation "Old Spice" guy. But when I went to make another traditional purchase... Yikes!-what do you mean they don't make O.S. anymore!?!
Well, it's been a few weeks now and I have grown quite fond of the "Spice Aftershave Splash" scent. As well, I imagine Dad and Grandpa would have learned to roll with the changing times, but the fact that "She likes it too" absolutely seals the deal!!
Overall this is a good fourgere scent, the only downside is the opening , it come off slightly vinegary for the 1st couple of minutes. Once those couple minutes pass, the vinegar smell subsides, & it becomes fairly familiar & pleasant smelling.
85% accurate to a certain(shul-ton) brand "spice" from a "old" timey era.

I went so far as to buy a decant of the original Old Spice from the 1970s. To my surprise and delight Barrister & Mann smells better by far! I love the spicy carnation so much. I'm happy to see it comes in a cologne. Can't wait to buy a bottle for him, or more accurately, me.

As many others who have searched for the old Shulton formula, Spice was highly recommended as an alternative to combing eBay for buying up all the old supply for that right scent that we all grew up with. That being said, it is the closest I've found to date, with a couple of slight, but not unpleasant differences.
For my comparison, I have a few bottles of the old stuff around from the halcyon era of OS. Two were well-preserved, but one has kind of turned for the worse, so I'm not sure if it was due to age or improper storage. I also have the current P&G version, which is a slap in the face (no pun intended) to the original.
The first departure for the B&M Spice from the original (which may be intentional for all I know) is a noticeably darker first smell from the bottle, which I can only describe as brown, rather than the light blue scent from days past. However, after the Spice is applied for a few minutes, it is virtually indistinguishable from the original to my nose and to my wife's nose. It still retains the slight powdery top and rich sweetness that we all know and love. I've worn it daily now for almost two weeks and really enjoy it.
The other difference is the lack of alcohol burn when applied to the face after shaving. To me, the burning meant, "It's working," but then again, it's only a brief side-effect, so if that's something you didn't like about old after shaves, this will be a non-issue.
Finally, I will say that you should probably give the bottle a couple of shakes before opening to mix the formula, as the oils tend to separate from the water-based (or alcohol) liquids after sitting for a day.
All in all, I highly recommend Spice. Great job, B&M!
It smells medicinal in the bottle but once it’s on your skin the alcohol fades you’re left with a very pleasant, masculine spice. Not remotely old-fashioned smelling, would pair well with modern spicy or woody perfumes. For an alcohol based aftershave I don’t find that it at all drying. Skin feels smooth and moisturized.
Okay, dont actually drink it. Though it smells delicious, it’s actually for your face. With that, I love it. It’s a great start to my day and complements the cologne very well.
I had read that this was a close approximation to the original formula for Old Spice . Was a little flowerier than I remembered Old Spice, The women seem to think it's pretty nice though.

This aftershave is awesome! As many other reviewers have noted, there are many similarities to Old Spice. I would agree, but there seems to be less geranium in this aftershave, which I have no problem with. It is sweet, spicy, and surprisingly, long lasting for an aftershave. I intend to buy the parfum in the near future . Thank you B&B for producing this wonderful product.
